Popular Fix the Country convener, Oliver Mawuse Barker Vormawor has for close to a week been in the media headlines. The Cambridge PhD student was arrested immediately he arrived in Ghana. He was detained and later arraigned before court for trying to incite a coup. Oliver’s Facebook post gave him out when out of emotions he used certain statements that were deemed as treasonous.It’s been 6 days past and the institution that he heads have provided an update on him on their Facebook page.
1.Oliver is still lively and resolute in his stand that his rights have been violated during his arrest.
2. Currently, he is still on hunger strike which means it’s been 6 days without food.3. Fix the country conveners are concerned about the health of their boss because they fear he might be broken mentality as a result of the hunger strike.
4. Legal team still working to ensure that the case is filed at a competent court.
5. According to the Fix the country conveners they have failed to reach the IGP and Attorney General to explain why Oliver is still in detention.
6.The group thanked all who have supported the campaign to get Oliver freed.
7. Monies made towards this gesture is a little over 7,300 cedis.
