*AFƆDADA, LƆKPLI OR ADZINU*

In the Volta Region, especially among Eʋes the Afɔdada, Alɔkpli or Adzinu is a sexual disease *(a dangerous sexual taboo breaking disease)* that spreads among friends, family members, clergy and siblings who engage in sexual activity. Woman or women who engage in sexual activity with a man, knowingly or not. This sexual taboo breaking is a sacrilege which provokes a mysteriously dangerous disease that kills faster than a wildfire.

 *CAUSES*

First, when you are siblings or friends and you both have sex with the same person, knowingly or not, and you eat both in the same bowl, drink alcohol in the same glass or even share some objects.

If one of you falls ill or suffers a serious accident, the one should not pay visit to the other. Otherwise, your disease will worsen and you will die from the disease if the suitable purification ritual is not done for you to cleanse you of the inevitable premature death.

*Secondly , this is particular to men :* When a woman, "baby mama", has a child with a man without being married to him, she can not have sexual relations with another man, unless they are separated if she no more wants to marry the man (the father of the baby).

If she stays with the man and cheats on him (by having sex with another man or men), she committed a sacrilege and defiled the "proposed marriage" and, therefore, her husband or the baby's father should not have sex or eat with her again.

On the other hand, if the man wants her to come back, she can be purified by some purification rites, but for sure this purification is just an alternative to palliate the breaking of their marriage. This cleansing is just to maintain together anyhow the couple; their marriage will remain incomplete forever. So when the man falls ill, she can not see him, buy him medicine, prepare food for him to eat or offer any assistance during his illness until he is completely healed. The same thing will happen if it us the woman who falls sick. Both of them must not give assistance simultaneously to a sick person whether it is their child, parent or anybody. Otherwise, the sick person will not revive but die prematurely.

But if the man (the father of the child) knows and continues to have sex with this kind of wife or this cheating mother of his child, there is nothing but a sudden mysterious disease leading to premature and untimely death.

Simply, in the Ewe culture and traditions, *"WOMEN" are gods of life and death and should be regarded as sacred beings.*

The Right Reverend Bishop Gregory Akata, during one of our Easter retreats for the youth at the Community of Christ the King of Peace Charity Foyer at Alavanyo, said in one of his lessons : *"God empower women,* but in his own wisdom, he prevented women from discovering some of their spiritual powers, otherwise they would use these powers to wreak havoc, provoke disastrous disorders. "

Another cause of Afɔdada, Alɔkpli or Adzinu is the fact of having sex in groups of three or more.

Furthermore, when a mother and her daughter sleeping with the same man, knowingly or not, eat from the same bowl, they are guilty of Alɔkpli or Adzinu. None of them must not even see the coffin of the other if she is dead. The same with a man and his son, friends in this situation, . ...

It is important to note that two people who had sex with the same person should not be allowed to visit a newborn baby, otherwise the baby will die.

*Hello, young people, do not be absent-minded in your relationship and do not be blinded by love or sex if you want to avoid premature death. Don't be too much impulsive in sexual matters. Do control your sexual passions. Otherwise, this behavior will undeniably lead to a break of living a long and successful life. Afɔdada, Alɔkpli or Adzinu is more dangerous than CORONA VIRUS (Covid-19) and kill quicker than you can imagine.*

Today, most young people are on posters, banners, circulars with captions like :

 *"WHAT A SHOCK"*

and *"GONE TOO SOON"*.

The first cause is Alɔkpli and it is so sad because we do not know these things and forget that after death, we can not correct errors in our lifetime.

 *WARNING SIGNAL*

The alarm signal is the Alɔkpli hiccups (involuntary contractions of the diaphragm. Each contraction is followed by a sudden closure of the vocal cords, which produces the sound "problem" feature and can sometimes be accompanied by a slight feeling of tightness in the chest, abdomen or throat).

When a spouse or friend is sick and a person with whom she shared or is sharing the same man or the same woman visits her and hiccups is triggered, there is strong reason to suspect AFƆDADA, ALƆKPLI or ADZINU.

It kills so quickly in just few hours.

Let's be informed and play the security card.
