The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Northern Region headquarters was attacked on Tuesday, and according to the Ghana Police Service, suspects are being sought.
As angry youngsters rushed the office to protest the selection of one Ali Adolf as the acting party regional chairman, they trashed property and fired gunshots.
Alhaji Rufai Vielim, the NDC's first vice chairman for the northern region, was arrested on Tuesday evening and taken for questioning in connection with the alleged instigation of the youth action.

The police announced in a statement on Wednesday that they had already started a manhunt for the offenders.
The Service promised that everyone found guilty would be subjected to the full force of the law.
