Some Top Artistes Dominating Volta Music Industry

Volta Region has many talent and on yearly basis we have most of them hitting the spotlight. Some of this artiste has dominated the music scene for a while now and becoming a national representative word wide is what they are working towards.

Most of this artiste has international features and awards to their achievements. They are hardworking and motivated to do more so we shall be seeing most of them for a very long period of time .

Below are some of the few artiste dominating volta and beyond

KEENY ICE

Keeny Ice as known is from aflao a town in the volta region of Ghana. He has been in the music scene for years now and has proven to be one of the best rappers volta has produced over the years.

Known very well for almost putting on a hat, Keeny has proven his worth many times by performing on stage with ‘gurus like Sarkodie, Edem, Victor AD etc. His song with Nigerian music icon Victor AD gave him a free passport to the Nigerian music industry. He has an EP titled BOARDER VIBES which has great and mind blowing songs on it

AGBESHIE

One of the most unique and talented artiste promoting the ewe culture is the kingkong himself Agbeshie. The ewe boss president has over previous years, given back to back hits from Gbonyo Face, Agbozume, Wrowrowoho featuring Medikal etc to his latest drill hiphop single featuring other artiste from volta.

In a recent interview at a tv station, Agbeshie disclosed he will be releasing an EP this year and promised his fans they were going to love his upcoming projects.

JJ GONAMI

Dr Gbekui as well known by music lovers started music in his early ages. He came to the limelight somewhere between 2009 and 2011 after he released an ewe version of Limpopo originally sang by Kcee an artiste from Nigeria.

Fast forward to 2020, he came up with a song Gbekui an ewe word which means we*d. The song instantly a street anthem and since then he has released other songs like Abi,Eye Red and others. Gonami in the late hours of 2021 released a mini album titled The Religion which features other artiste like Captain from the shatta movement empire, 2020 volta music awards artiste of the year Jah Phinga, the junction hit maker Raingad etc.

He currently filled the Kpando sports stadium with his one man concert Religion Concert.

STAL I

Stal I’s La-wordor, an ewe version refix of Medikal’s La-hustle song was definitely one of the popular songs in 2020. This brought Stal I to the limelight and since then he has released many singles and also an EP to keep him consistent in the industry.

ZYGEE

Another fast and rising artiste from volta region is Zygee also know as Kofi Korba. His immensely contribution to the volta music industry is just surprising.

The rapper has hit on hit making waves and in 2021 got an endorsement from the rockstar of Ghana music Kuame Eugene.

JAH PHINGA

The mawuko, work and pray and wo deka hit maker was on top the region after his songs mentioned above took over every street of volta. The 2017 AFRIMMA nominee song mawuko is sang in weddings, events and even in churches. His choice of words carries a motivational message across and is loved by both old and young. Currently the reigning artiste of the year for volta music awards 2020, Jah Phinga’s album Rebirth featuring Nigerian superstar Ice Prince, Ghanaian afrobeat star Kelvyn bwoy and others. He has many songs out on all platforms and promises to give out his best to promote volta always.

WOLFMAN

The Large Movement Gang president hails from Sogakope and has been in existence in music scene. His style of music is very simple as he makes his lyrics simple and very easy to relate with. He is the current Volta Music Awards best performer of the year. He is definitely the fans favorite when you come to the streets of soga and its surroundings.

KPESE BOII

The hood man himself Kpese Boii has been around every corner giving back to back hits from dewodzi,doro,free me and so on since his appearance in the industry. He is termed the man of the streets because his songs seem to have motivational lyrics which music lovers easily get attached to. He is currently working under low and also has a yet to be released song with the vrmg boss Edem .

CHIEF ONE

This list is not going to be accepted by music lovers if the man of the moments Chief One is not part. He has given all his best from day one of his journey till date. He is one of the artist from volta to have gain national and international recognition through ewe songs. The versatile artiste has back to back hits and his recent collaboration with DD DON titled NOVAYI has gain him massive attention and endorsement from entertainment gurus like Reggie Rockstone, Dj faculty, Giovani etc. He won the next rated act at the just ended 2022 3music awards and was also an unsung act nominee in the 2022 vgma which he lost to Gambo. Chief one is ready for the industry and he recently made that officially by the release of his recent EP with title HERE I COME. The ‘wo’ refix hit maker is definitely a strong candidate to take Ghana music higher.

TOM D’FRICK

Doubtlessly one of the richest artiste from volta. Tom is always in the news especially when he releases a new song or video. The stubborn academy signee seems to know the business part of entertainment and this is pushing him very well. Many believe the ovorvom crooner is not talented but rather using his wealth to push himself with big names in the industry.
