Finally, a Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu trailer for Babli Bouncer has been released. In advance of its September 23 premiere, Disney+ Hotstar debuted the trailer for the upcoming comedy-drama starring Tamannaah Bhatia. The movie is directed by Padma Shri winner Madhur Bhandarkar (Chandni Bar), but it differs greatly from his previous, more soberly toned sociopolitical entries. He co-wrote the Babli Bouncer script with Aradhana Debnath and Amit Joshi, the latter of whom had previously worked with him on "India Lockdown." Exclusively on Disney+ Hotstar, Babli Bouncer debuts in Hindi with dubs in Tamil and Telugu.
The Babli Bouncer trailer opens with a voiceover by Saurabh Shukla introducing the residents of Fatehpur Beri, the actual "bouncer village" of North India (Slumdog Millionaire). He asserts that "every boy in the village" must bulk up in order to mold their future—to land a job at a nightclub—as the proprietor of a nearby gym. Although the town is known for producing club bouncers on a daily basis, one stands out. His daughter Babli, who is portrayed by Bhatia, outlifts every other gym patron.
She is a tomboy, which is understandable but something her mother disapproves of. Who will propose to her? A random townswoman is heard saying, "She has no feminine qualities," as the Babli Bouncer trailer cuts to her approaching a man at a nearby wedding. The unnamed character, played by Abhishek Bajaj (Student of the Year 2), develops into Babli's love interest, altering her outlook on life and inspiring her to be independent. She tries to persuade her father to let her go to Delhi and get a job as a way to avoid getting married to the neighborhood pharmacist (Saanand Verma). The only problem with this is that she took "five years" to graduate from high school.
When all hope seems lost, a local bodybuilder named Sahil Vaid tells Babli about a job opening for a female bouncer. The Babli Bouncer trailer deteriorates into a montage of her beating up kidnappers, lifting weights, and participating in the typical Bollywood dance sequences, but she takes the job on the spot.
The Bhandarkar-directed movie, which is a part of the Disney+ Hotstar Multiplex label, is one of three Indian originals on Disney+ Hotstar in September, along with the recently released supernatural drama Dahan with Tisca Chopra and the mystery thriller Cuttputlli with Akshay Kumar.
On September 23, Babli Bouncer will premiere in Hindi, Tamil, and Telegu exclusively on Disney+ Hotstar.
